Introducing FoodFinder Gamification!

Badge your Way to the Top of the Foodie Chart

FoodFinder is a great incentive for foodies to share their knowledge on their favorite dishes. Now, on top of writing a rewarding review, foodies of all levels can now show their knowledge with achievements, rankings, and levels boasted proudly with badges.

The outcome is that a foodie with a high reputation will have a strong influence over a restaurant’s rating, whereas a foodie with a lower reputation will have little to no effect at all. This is the recipe for crafting better restaurant ratings.

The difference between FoodFinder, and other reviewer sites, is that a large number of reviews are required to achieve statistical significance, and many of the reviews may not be truly genuine.

To truly make the reviewing experience more rewarding than an extra piece of cannoli after a delicious Italian meal, foodies can boast their newly earned badges to climb their way up the ranks to become a high ranking foodie.

As a foodie moves higher up in the ranks, they can earn a stronger influence over a restaurant’s ranking. Foodies can earn rankings in different genres of food, and become more than just another reviewer. For example, if a foodie is particularly fond of Italian food, and frequents and reviews Italian restaurants, than that foodie will gain an expertise ranking in Italian food.

What’s more, is that the ranking will be noted with a badge that the foodie can then boast about, and show other foodies their confirmed expertise.

FoodFinder is excited to roll out this next phase of food reviewing, and can’t wait for foodies to take advantage of all the new badges, rankings, and level s to be earned.

Sample Neighborhood Flavors with Local Tastes

Local Food Tastes Serve Up Neighborhood Flavors

Local food tastes are a great way for locals and tourists alike to see what a neighborhood has to offer, all in one place. Food tastes provide the chance to try new tastes, and sample favorite restaurants in a new light. Food tastes are especially great if you’ve had your eye on a restaurant, but haven’t had the chance to try it.

San Diego has been teeming with tastes lately, much to the joy of foodies who enjoy being offered the chance to go on cultural tasting adventures. Recently, The Taste of North Park offered up tastes from over 35 restaurants in the self-proclaimed hipster neighborhood of North Park. This walking food tour dished out tastes from pizza, to sushi, to frozen yogurt, to tofu lettuce wraps, and more.

Most recently, the Taste of Banker’s Hill in San Diego’s unique neighborhood of Banker’s Hill served up some delicious samplings from the finest food establishments at the rooftop lounge of Inn at the Park.

Samples included tastes from Bertrand at Mr. A’, a high-end steak house, Barrio Star, an authentic restaurant serving up tastes from Mexico, and many more restaurants from around this long established uptown.

Banker’s Hill earned its name from its association with the affluent and homes date back to the late 19th Century. This historic part of town is located west of Balboa Park, and is bordered by Hillcrest to the North. This small yet unique neighborhood offers up an abundance of cultural tastes, and the Taste of Baker’s Hill attested to that.

The best way to get to know the flavor of a neighborhood is to test out its restaurants, and food tastings provide an excellent chance to get to know multiple restaurants in one collective location. San Diego has more than proven its share in neighborhood food tastings.

Have you sampled some of the tasty treats served up in one of the San Diego tastings?

Leave your review of how the restaurants rated to your taste buds!
